Beyond Social

A redesign proposal for a collaborative Social Design magazine, created within Willem de Kooning Academie.

As a project of the seventh quarter of Willem de Kooning Academie, we had to make a redesign proposal for a collaborative Social Design magazine, created within the faculty. One of the requirements was that the design stimulated professionals and students to collaborate with the magazine, so I decided that the focus of my proposal was to empower authors to thereby encourage readers to participate in the content.
To emphasize the importance of the authors, I designed the magazine so their names and pictures appear even before their articles. Instead of writing their fields, I chose to put their passions, followed by a mini biography that focuses not only on their work but also their personality, humanizing them and increasing the possibility of the readers identifying with the authors.
To give even more importance to the authors, I selected a sentence from their articles to use as a quote that also works as separation between them.
Usei cores para diferenciar os editoriais da revista e criar um sistema visual.

I used colors to differentiate the magazine's editorial and create a visual system.
I also created a guide that explains step by step how to collaborate with the magazine, to show readers how easy it is to become an author.
